Romelu Lukaku has once again congratulated Inter fans after receiving the Serie A Player of the Season award for the 2020-21 season on Monday.
The Belgian striker was instrumental in the Nerazzurri’s title success last season, as he netted 24 goals in 36 appearances for Antonio Conte’s league-winning side.
He wasn’t the league’s top scorer, with Cristiano Ronaldo winning that honor with Juventus, however, his contribution to the title race saw him take first place.

The trophy comes just months after Lukaku sat down with Sky Italia to give an interview in which he detailed his love for Inter fans, while also expressing a desire to return to the team one day. San Syro.

Speaking upon accepting the award, Lukaku said he wanted to thank the fans after his award.
‘They helped me achieve great things. We have won together by progressing a lot. Everyone has developed and the coach has always been close to us. This award gives me a lot of confidence for the future.
Lukaku has made no secret of his affinity with Inter and his desire to return to Italy one day.
This was fueled by his struggles at Stamford Bridge, where he struggled to establish himself at the top.
He has scored just 12 times in 34 appearances and has been selected in Thomas Tuchel’s starting line-up just 12 times in the Premier League this season.
