NASA Hosts Astronaut Frank Rubio’s Media Briefing and Pre-Launch Interviews
WASHINGTON, August 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — NASA astronaut Frank Rubio will virtually discuss his upcoming mission to the International Space Station during a press conference and follow-up interviews.
The activities, which should begin with the pre-launch press conference at 9 a.m. EDT Monday, Aug. 22, will air live on NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website. Rubio will also be available for virtual interviews limited to 9 hours Wednesday August 24. Watch these events online at:

Rubio, together with Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dimitri Petelinis to be launched to the space station on Wednesday, September 21 aboard the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. He will be a flight engineer and crew member of the Expedition 68 station.
This will be Rubio’s first spaceflight since becoming an astronaut in 2017. The Miami, Florida native graduate of American military academy and earned a doctorate in medicine from University of Uniformed Services Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Before going to medical school, he served as a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter pilot and logged more than 1,100 flight hours, including more than 600 hours of combat and near-danger time during deployments. at bosnia, Afghanistanand Iraq.
