Exploring S’Klallam’s history at your fingertips in the Zoom presentation

David Brownell will use ethnographic and research materials to “reconstruct” the landscape and understand how Jamestown S’Klallam’s ancestors thrived for millennia through his abundant resources in an online presentation scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 13 from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Zoom.
Brownell, Executive Director of the North Olympic History Center, presents âEthnography and Ethnobotany of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley,â an event organized by the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library in conjunction with the North Olympic History Center.
Originally dotted with at least 10 grasslands and extensive wetlands, the landscape of the Sequim-Dungeness Valley has undergone significant change over the past century. Brownell’s presentation examines the deep and ancient connection the S’Klallam people have to the plants and animals of the Olympic Peninsula.
